Mountaintops, Valleys, and the God Who Holds It All

ree

So, I did a thing. And by "thing," I mean I started a ministry. I know, I know — as if I needed another thing on my plate. Nonetheless, I did this thing.

Here's the truth: I didn't start Field & Feather because I had extra time, or because I was looking for something else to do. I started it because God pressed it so deeply into my heart that I couldn't shake it. I've lived enough life, carried enough questions, and walked through enough valleys to know how important it is to have someone come alongside you when faith feels fragile.

And that's really what this ministry is — the overflow of my story, which isn't polished or perfect. It's full of mountaintops and valleys, beauty and ache, laughter and tears. It's about a God who met me in every one of those places and is still meeting me today.

So when I say I started Field & Feather, what I really mean is: I said yes to God's invitation to share what He's done in me — to walk with women so they don't have to walk alone.

A Journey Through Valleys

I have walked through the ache of unanswered questions — the kind that keep you awake at night, staring at the ceiling, asking God, "Where are You? Why this? Why now?"

I have known grief so sharp it takes your breath, betrayal so deep it shakes your trust, and seasons so heavy you wonder if you'll ever stand again.

I did not just suffer in my valleys — I also sinned in them. I wandered into choices that pulled me further from the light, into patterns of brokenness I thought could numb the pain. Sin always promises relief but delivers chains, and the deeper I went, the darker the path became. There were seasons I could not even see the way out — the shame too heavy, the lies too loud, the darkness too thick. I know what it is to feel stuck in that place, convinced that God could not forgive this or rescue me.

But even there — in the pitch-black of my rebellion — His light broke through. His mercy reached farther than my wandering. His grace proved stronger than my chains. The very places I thought disqualified me became the altars where His redemption shone brightest. The path I could not find on my own was lit by His Word, and the hands I thought were too stained to be held were clasped in the scarred hands of my Savior.

And over time, I learned something sacred: the valleys did not break me. They bent me low, pressed me deeper, and anchored me in the One who holds all things together.

A View from the Mountaintops

Mountaintops came too — moments of joy, of laughter, of prayers answered, of miracles seen. But I began to understand that faith is not built on mountaintops alone. Mountaintops reveal God's glory; valleys reveal His faithfulness.

Both are holy ground. Both are needed. And both are where He forms us into women who can stand, women who can endure, women who can say, "Even here, He is enough."

My Debt to Grace

My past was marred with sin, stained with choices and failures that should have separated me forever from a holy God. Yet in His mercy, He reached down into the wreckage of my life and redeemed me.

To the Lord, I owe everything: my past redeemed, my present sustained, and my future secured. How can I ever thank Him enough for leaving glory, taking on flesh, and dying in my place?

Jesus — You are my Redeemer, my Savior, my everything. Every thought, every word, every breath is a debt of worship to the One who has given me life and holds me fast. May my days be a song of praise, and may my life forever magnify the One who loved me when I was most unlovable.

Why Field & Feather

It was out of this journey that Field & Feather was born.

I've seen many women step into faith with joy, yet without support. How many walk through valleys and feel they must do it alone? How many silently wrestle with questions and shame, unsure if their struggles disqualify them from being "good Christians."

I started Field & Feather because I believe no woman should walk alone in those tender beginnings, or in those weary stretches where faith feels fragile.

Here, we teach the Word of God in its fullness — because roots need truth. Here, we create space for honest questions — because faith grows stronger when tested. Here, we walk together — because no one was meant to journey in isolation.

The Heartbeat of Our Mission

The Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 15:1–2 (NKJV):

“We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.”

That is the heartbeat of Field & Feather. To bear with one another. To build one another up. To grow together in Christ.

This is not just a ministry. This is my story poured out. This is my offering back to the God who has held me in mountaintops and valleys alike.

A Call to You

And friend, if you are reading this from a place of ache — maybe you're a new believer beginning your walk with Christ, perhaps you've wandered far and feel lost, or maybe you're carrying wounds so heavy you don't know if you can go on — I want you to know the same redemption is for you.

The same Jesus who lifted me out of the pit is reaching for you right now.

You don't have to clean yourself up before coming to Him. You don't have to have all the answers. You don't even have to be strong. You only need to come.

At Field & Feather, that's why we exist — to walk with you in those tender beginnings and weary places, to remind you that you are not forgotten, not unseen, not unloved. We are here to point you to the One who redeems, sustains, and never lets go.

So if you are hurting, lost, or simply searching for encouragement as a struggling Christian, take the next step. Don't walk alone.

Come. Explore the journey with us. Let's walk it together.

For your good, and His glory.
