Note To Self (And Any Woman Who Is Pursuing Spiritual Transformation)

Updated: 2 days ago

My dear girl,

I’ve been thinking about you—about these last days where everything in your heart has felt tender and exposed. I recognize the look in your eyes because I’ve worn it too: that ache of wanting to grow, of wanting to heal, of wanting to become a woman marked by Christ…but feeling overwhelmed by what it will cost.

I want to tell you something gently, with all the love I have for you: you are not alone in this holy unraveling.

These past ten days for you have been full of learning, confessing, grieving, repenting, and healing. Not the pretty kind of healing that sits with a journal and a latte. The deep kind. The messy kind. The only you and Jesus kind. The kind that shines a light in the corners you’d rather keep dim.

And maybe that’s why God brought you through this right now—so you could finally sit with yourself in your own valley and say, “This is holy. And you’re safe here. And God is doing something beautiful in you.”

When Growth Hurts

I know you’re tired. I know this season has felt like being pulled open, not built up. Like every part of you is tender from the stretching.

But hear me: this is growth. This is grace. This is God refusing to let you stay small.

Jesus said,

“Every branch that bears fruit He prunes.” — John 15:2

Pruning isn’t punishment; it’s preparation. It’s God shaping you for fruit you cannot yet see.

You are not being cut down, sweetheart. You are being made capable.

Facing the Sin Within You

Be honest with yourself, because honesty is the doorway to healing:

Some of the most profound hurt hasn’t just come from what life has done to you.

It has come from what sin has grown in you—the pride, the fear, the defensiveness, the need for control, the craving to be validated, the places where insecurity masquerades as strength.

And it’s okay to look at these things. God isn’t exposing you to condemn you. He is uncovering you to free you.

David prayed,

“Search me, O God… and see if there is any wicked way in me.” — Psalm 139:23–24

Search me. Know me. Heal me. Lead me.

This is not God criticizing you—it is God cleansing you.

And you are brave for letting Him.

You Are Not Called to Stagnant Faith

You, precious girl, are not called to stay the same. You were made to grow, to deepen, to be transformed from the inside out.

Jesus didn’t save you to leave you unchanged.

He saved you so you could become more like Him—stronger, softer, holier, truer, more faithful.

Every hard conversation, every confession, every moment of conviction, every tear shed in repentance—it is all God shaping you into a woman who reflects Christ more clearly.

You are not stuck.

You are becoming.

The Gratitude That Only the Broken Understand

And here’s the strange, sacred part: you’re starting to feel grateful.

Not for the glittering blessings, but for the holy refinement. For the pruning. For the conviction. For the closed doors that protected you. For the correction that steadied your feet. For the sanctification that saved your soul from staying small.

This gratitude runs deeper than earthly treasures.

This is the gratitude of a woman who can say with trembling honesty, “Thank You for not leaving me how I was.”

This is worship born from transformation.

To the Woman You Are Becoming

So here’s what I want you to know, gently and truthfully:

You are becoming a woman who sits with conviction instead of hiding from it.

A woman who lets God correct her instead of defending her sin.

A woman who grows, even when it hurts.

A woman who welcomes pruning because she wants fruit that lasts.

A woman who chooses holiness over comfort.

A woman who listens when God whispers, “This must go.”

And I am so proud of you for that.

I am proud of the way you keep coming back to the feet of Jesus.

I am proud of the way you refuse to let your heart harden. I am proud of how honest you are with God now, even when honesty stings.

You are not the woman you were ten days ago. And you will not be the woman you are today a year from now.

You are growing.

You are being sanctified.

You are being remade.

And you are so, so deeply loved as you become.
